Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
Kochi → Munnar
Met at Cochin International and straight up into the Western Ghats. The road climbs past the Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls and into cardamom country; by the last hour the tea has taken over the hillsides entirely.
Day 2
Munnar → Thekkady
The tea country in the morning — Mattupetty, Echo Point, the Tea Museum — then over the hills into Periyar's spice gardens for the night.
Day 3
Thekkady → Kochi
Periyar at first light, when the wildlife is actually about, a spice plantation walk, and the drive back down to Kochi for the flight home.
